Four Athens startups gathered for a lunchtime Member Demo Day in May to share and discuss favorite marketing tools. Demonstrations were made by two Athens startup founders, Dustin Checketts of Paperboy Games and Ty Frix of Ichor Sports. Given their unique user base, each spoke on the specialized marketing processes they created over time, how they measured success along the way, and the tools that helped them get there.
For Paperboy Games, App Search Optimization was key in strategic competition for attention in the game apps markets. Their tool of choice for ASO was SensorTower. For a game-centered audience, there was also some discussion with the group as to the value of various social media platforms and leveraging gaming media like Twitch.tv.
Automational as an email marketing automation tool was a favorite of Ichor Sports founder and CEO Ty Frix, whose primary customer base is physical education teachers and sports coaches in schools across the country. Discovering that email is the main communication medium used by the target market, a 3-step automated process was created to send follow-up emails based on a prospect’s actions.
